CWO is committed to the concept of training. All employees need to be trained to carry out their duties effectively.
It is an integral part of every Supervisor and Manager’s job to identify the training needs of their employees, and then develop cost effective plans for ensuring the training tasks are in place.
CWO workforce is 100% CSCS registered.
In addition semi-skilled operatives are working towards NVQ level 2, Trowel Occupations in Stone Fixing.
CWO recruits one or two apprentices a year (dependent on workspace available) working towards NVQ Level 3 in Banker Masonry. Training programmes are balanced between workshop and site based training, so that training is given in all aspects of stonemasonry. Periods of training are carried out at a stonemasonry college.
CWO interview for the apprentice(s) in May, and the chosen candidate(s) will spend several months prior to starting the apprenticeship itself working out on site to get a feel for the industry and gaining some site experience before entering the workshop environment.
CWO are always looking for good quality banker and fixer masons and design draughtsmen, for more information please contact Cathy O'Brien or Gillian Raymond on 01243 784225 or email us on info@cwo.uk.com
CATHEDRAL WORKS ORGANISATION - based in Chichester, London and Kent is embarking on an ambitious expansion programme and now welcomes applications from experienced business and sales development professionals who live in London or the South-East.
You will have a track record in building successful supplier/client revenue generating relationships within the construction industry, ideally within the conservation and restoration sector, but not necessarily within stonemasonry, as our client base also extends to new build - with us increasingly assuming the role of main contractor.
As CWO is management owned, you will find us with a firmly committed work ethic whilst retaining an informal, open and friendly team spirit that results in an enviably low staff turnover. We believe that we pay our people well, and operate good pension and healthcare plans. There is also a profit related bonus scheme for all staff, as we do not believe in commission schemes which, in our experience, undermines team harmony and unity.
A company car or car allowance is also included in the remuneration package (this will be your choice)
If you feel the need to make 2010 your year of career improvement or you deserve better recognition for what you achieve, and you feel that you have the appropriate experience, then please send your application to: Bernard Burns, Managing Director bernard.burns@cwo.uk.com
NB. Applications will be accepted up until end February 2010
BUILDING ESTIMATOR – CHICHESTER, WEST SUSSEX
CATHEDRAL WORKS ORGANISATION - headquartered in Chichester, as a key element within our expansion strategy, is now seeking an ambitious and capable building estimator to work alongside our Estimating Manager.

CWO is management owned and so enjoys a hard working but informal and friendly atmosphere where individuals and their ideas count for a great deal.
This is a new position that we believe not only offers a fresh opportunity for the right person, but also provides a competitive salary, pension, healthcare and a profit related bonus scheme.
If you would like 2010 to offer you a real chance to “make a difference” – and to gain recognition for doing so, then, if you have the experience we require please send your application to: Bernard Burns, Managing Director bernard.burns@cwo.uk.com
