Private Residence, West Sussex
Phase I
Situated within the tranquil South Downs, this attractive country dwelling has been designed to blend with its surroundings, using softly toned locally sourced West Hoathly sandstone for the walling.
The solidly constructed, two storey structure has generous architectural features comprising plinth course, quoins, ground and first floor window surrounds, circular feature windows, cornice and chimney caps in Blaxter Buff, Northumberland sandstone.
To the North elevation the Architect designed a bespoke entrance doorway. This highly decorative feature, with heavy Baroque influences took over 1000 hours to carve in CWO’s Chichester workshop.
Cragg Derbyshire sandstone was selected by the Architect for all paving and other hard landscaping works, set along side Blaxter Buff steps and copings, which blend perfectly with the main façade.
Phase II - Pool House
Phase II of the works comprised a single storey Pool House, constructed in the same way as the Main House. This pleasantly proportioned structure sits within the grounds.
