St Georges Chapel is situated within Windsor Castle, the largest and oldest occupied castle in the world and the residence of Her Majesty the Queen.
St George’s Chapel, built in a wide range of limestones, is one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in England. The St Georges Chapel restoration works consist of several phases of works to be carried out over a number of years.
CWO has completed Phase I and II of St Georges Chapel conservation works consisting of external façade cleaning, mortar repairs and lime conservation as well as re-pointing.
The full project involved conservation work to windows, mullions, sills and transom as well as to the coronets, statues and other sculptures to the external façade of St Georges Chapel, Windsor Castle.
Phase II consisted of similar conservation work to the Bray Chantry.
